Serge's article does not mention the most clinically efficacious way to boost intelligence broadly: Dual N-back brain training.
A 2017 meta-analysis analyzed 33 published dual n-back experiments from independent labs worldwide. It definitively showed that dual n-back training significantly increases the broad abilities underlying IQ, including fluid intelligence (Gf), working memory, both verbal and spatial (WM), and attention control (cognitive control).
